Getting baby to take a bottle?

My LO is 8 weeks tomorrow. As she took a bottle of expressed at 3 weeks for a couple of days whilst I let some nipple cracks heal, I smugly thought all was well.

I didn't realise you had to keep bottle feeding up! DH tried to give her a bottle of expressed tonight and she screamed the house down.

Is it too late to get her to take a bottle now? Am just kicking myself as I didn't realise you had to keep it up. I'm a bit gutted as I really fancied getting out for a few hours without her. I think this might push me over the edge.i need a break. Hmm

She might just be having an off daySmile I would keep trying & check you are using the right teat for her age.

Keep trying, but bear in mind that many babies get past the point when they will take a bottle.

I did the same! DS took a bottle from 4 weeks with no fuss and his dad fed him several times with expressed bm. Then we lapsed a bit and the week before I was due to be out until 3am, he started refusing point blank. I still went out that night (frantically checking for texts all night telling me he'd starved to death...) and when I got home it turned out he'd taken the bottle fine.
We kept it up for a bit, DH feeding him by bottle in a morning every so often - and then, inexplicably we stopped. Now I've started worrying about going back to work at the start of March (20 weeks now) so we've started again. He's taken 1 bottle and refused 2 this week...

So it may not be too late - keep trying, but don't make it a fight.

Good luck!!
