bleeding crack in nipple

so dd2 is one now, and i'm going to be winding down the bf, but not really keen to stop just like that. but a recent episode of biting while teething has left me with a crack in the side of my nipple, and because of where it is, it reopens every time i feed her. and it's agonizingly painful to feed her.

i have lansinoh. is there anything else i can do? please help.

Hello! Oh no! Poor you! It is so painful. The best thing to put on it is your breast milk. Self express a small amount and smear it all over the nipple as often as you like - especially before and after feeds. It has amazing healing properties - better than all the creams. Also let the air get to it as much you can. Difficult in this cold weather but wear loose clothing and no bra when you're at home so that it has a chance to heal. Hope you get better soon. Well done for feeding for so long!! I fed by little one until she decided she'd had enough at around 13 months. Smile
