Hi all

My DS has had diarrhoea and vomiting last 24 hours. He is now keeping his milk down and managed a few spoons of white rice and applesauce. However, he is also teething. Badly. What are your thoughts on giving calpol when tummies are a bit dodgy? Any advice appreciated. Thanks in advance!

How old is DS and does he appear to be in pain?

8 months. I have given him some as yes he did appear to be sore, hands in mouth chewing and sore ear it would seem too. No ill effects so far. Fingers crossed...

I don't think there's any problem with it, but if he throws it up don't give him any more before the 4 hours since the last dose is up, in case he's kept more down than you think and you overdose him, basically.

You can safely overlap paracetamol and ibuprofen, though, so if he was sick but you wanted to give something else baby nurofen is fine (again bearing in mind the 6 hour window)
