A question RE bottles

Ok so started bottle feeding 8.5month dd this week. She's only having 3 a day so been making the breakfast one the night before n warming up first thing. Then making afternoon and bedtime one in the morning and keeping in the fridge ready for when we need them.

Aaaaaaanyway she didn't have her afternoon one today so I have a spare bottle. Will it be ok to use in the morning?!

The answer is no. And you shouldn't be making bottles up in advance either. Gives too much time for bacteria in the formula to multiply. I know it 's a pain, but there is a small risk of bacterial infection making your baby poorly, really isn't worth it.

It says you can store milk in the fridge for up to 24 hours, however I generally make up a bottle before I go to bed for DS in the morning, and then in the morning make up a bottle for bed time so the bottles are kept for 12 hours.

You should try and make them fresh, but isn't always possible. I make my night feed bottles in advance and keep in fridge. I try to make daytime ones up fresh.

Ah bugger. Right I'll bin it. It's just a pain making it when we need cis we don't have an electric kettle. Whistling kettle and electric hob = nearly ten mins for it to bloomin boil. And then more time to cool down.

It will be fine for 24 hours as long as you made it up with water at 70 degrees and cooled it quickly before putting it in the fridge.

Have you considered ready made formula? Is more expensive but not too bad if not for every bottle and she is having less now as older. Could you get some in and then made daytime ones up fresh ( as you know roughly when se has them), then ready made for at night/ if out?

Dd has a soy based formula. Never seen that in ready made cartons

Hmm, no cant really help there :) there are two ready made soya (gerber and simlac ) but think they are USA based so not much use. Just think that from 1 year they can have regular milk / regular soya so only a couple more months of faffing
