Bfed baby won't take EBM!

Both my friend & I have 19 wk old DDs who are exclusively Bfed. Neither babies will take EBM from a bottle. She has been trying for a month with no success & I've tried occasionally, again with no luck.

Any tips/advice? Had a look through the archive to no avail. We know that a cup might be the only way. My friend is at her wits end as she's now back to work & has had to come home during lunch to feed her dd. BTW, she has started weaning & can get baby rice mixed with EBM into her. She also uses both the MAM & Nuk teats, dd refuses both.

Hi, my DH was left with ds (4 months) who does not want to drink EBM from his Avent bottles. My DH cut a bigger hole in the teat and this worked! Just cut with a knife a cross in the teat and this should help your baby to drink from the bottle.

Experiment with bottles and teats -- the NUK teat worked best with DS although ultimately it was a case of time and spending a few months compensating with lots of night feeds before he caught on.

With us my mother cut a bigger hole in the teat and that worked. Didn't work with DS (except once for about 30 seconds) but might be worth a try.

Thanks! Just tried her with a bottle using the spout from a Avent Magic Cup, without the valve & she didn't mind having it in her mouth so hopefully it's a start....

KM, my ds would only drink from the \link{http://www.baby-supplies.co.uk/catalog/product_info.php?manufacturers_id=15&products_id=1114\Playtex Nurser} with the latex Naturallatch teat. We had tried umpteem other bottles and were about to try a Haberman feeder if that didn't work.
