Expressing help - 14 wk DD is in hospital with feeding tube

Posted from chat. DD3 was admitted to hospital this morning with bronchiolitis Sad and has been put on a feeding (ng) tube until she improves. She is only being fed 50mls every 3hrs at the moment.

She is ebf so I am pumping the milk
for the tube but also need to keep up my supply for when she is well enough to feed from me again. Do I just keep expressing from both sides every 3hrs? Will this be enough? I've been doing this since we were admitted and am producing approx 100mls every 3hrs pumping from both sides.

Any help/advice much appreciated about
the expressing and about bronchiolitis. She seems so poorly it's very scary Sad

How strange- I've just posted pretty much the same message. My DS has bronchiolitis too. It is very scary. It sounds like you're doing a great job with the expressing- I'm getting about 60-70 ml each time, and it's hit or miss whether I let down at all!

I really hope your baby picks up soon. I know how you must be feeling. Look after yourself.

Hope you both get some posts soon.

Awww vinny sorry about your ds too. Hospital here seems to be full of bronch babies. Bloody hard to see them struggling isn't it. Sounds like you are doing a great job too - I re-posted in chat and it seems that we are doing the right things!! Has your hospital given you an electric pump? Hope you manage some rest - dd fast asleep on me at the moment and her sats drop every time I put her down so guess I'll be sitting up for a while!
