sippy cup problems

my DD is now - thank god - only on two bf's a day, morning and night. however she has never taken a bottle and i thought we were making progress with her cup but now she seems to have started hating it again! i can't even show it to her without her shoving it away / playing with it for a second then chucking it on the floor. she won't let me hold it to her mouth at all, she just pushes it away and winges. i can see she prob wants to do it her self but she has never been very good with actually drinking from anything other than my boobs. i don't think she's ever had more than a few sips from a cup and we've tried about 4 different ones. i'm planning on stopping bfing when she is 1 and would like her to be able to drink from a cup by then!! its getting a bit silly now.... any suggestions much appreciated! :)

I was struggling to get DS to drink out of a sippy cup (he knew how to, just didn't want to), so my HV suggested putting 10mls of water in and giving him the cup with the lid off and top up the water as and when you need to and this has worked!

My HV did mention it's hard sometimes for babies to suck the sippy cup so sometimes they get the hang of drinking like an adult faster!

How old is she?

My LO will drink from a cup with no lid (actually prefers a glass or a mug as that's what he sees me use!) I just fill with a little bit at a time. I find the handles a bit annoying as he tends to just grab them and try to fling the cup away. He is 7 months old. I offer it in the afternoon, and he'll drink about 2oz like this and the rest from a bottle.
I use water or formula (used to use expressed milk as well).

she's 10.5 months at the mo so hoping she gets the hang of it in 6 weeks as i'm hoping to start weaning her off the boob then!

Dd3 couldn't use a sippy cup. She had a doidy cup and just had a beaker from about 18m

I second the use of a Doidy Cup. I spent a fortune on different sippy cups, all of which DS hated. He used a doidy cup, then went onto a normal cup with a straw, then onto just a normal cup.
