leaky boobs!

I'm breastfeeding 7wo ds2 and my boobs are massively leaky. I'm fed up of constantly having wet clothes and milk patches on my front, it's embarrassing and I have a cold chest! . I have to stick a folded muslin down my top on the side I'not feeding from (great look if out and about) and be ready to catch with another one the second ds comes off.

Any tips to reduce this, or advice on how long it's going to last? I never had this with ds1.

Seems obvious but have you tried nursing pads? I'm using disposable Johnson ones but I also have some reuseable, they just aren't as shaped.

I like the Lansinoh ones. They have this gel in them that soaks up a lot of milk, so even at night, when DD will go 8 hrs without a feed, I stay dry, but they are also very thin. I once spilt DS's water bottle in my bag and it all got absorbed by a stray Lansinoh nursing pad that was lurking in there

If you're at home, how about using breast shells? I use the Phillips Avent breast shells to collect the leakage. If you sterilise the shells, you can then put the milk into storage bags & store it in the freezer for up to 6mths. I found I can get up to 4 or 5oz easily using 1 shell per boob (I.e. in 2 feeds). If you wash up quickly & repeat throughout the day, it soon adds up!!

I have also found that the Asda Little Angels breast pads are pretty good (2 boxes of 40 for £2) although I sometimes go through a couple of pads per feed.

I leaked prolifically with my DD, but it settled down after a few weeks, so I stopped going through the pads (bit still needed to wear them). I'd started leaking in pg, so it wasn't a surprise. This time, no leakage during pg, so getting swamped at each feed was a bit more . However, DS is only 12do, so my supply is still settling down.

Yes, I'm using the avent washable ones which I found quite good last time, but I'm getting through multiple sets a day as they frequently end up soaking wet! It's not so much between feeds anyway, it's more the amount that comes out of both sides every time I feed....

Oooh richman might try those ones then. I was going to get some from Amazon when I ordered other bits, bit thought they looked a bit pricey. Now I know why - they're nappies for your boobs
