Tommee Tippee Anti Colic bottles

I ve got a 4 week old baby and was originally using closer to nature bottles.

However my baby has real trouble with trapped wind so i swapped her bottles for the tommee tippee anti colic ones.

However the teats kept collapsing on them (my baby does suck quite hard) so i changed them to the medium flow.

Also the milk keeps getting bubbles in it when my baby is feeding. I ve checked the valve ring at the bottom of the tube inside the bottles and the valve slit is open, so it should be working.

The teats are still collapsing on the medium flow. When assembling the bottles, am i suppose to pinch the end of the valve and put it on the tube whilst still pinching the end?

Any advice on these bottles would be very much appreciated.

Does tommee tippee have a help line? Google?

I ve tried there helpline, no-one answers the phone so i emailed them.

They told me that the teats were collapsing as baby was sucking too hard and i need to go up a flow rate or they were collapsing due to the valve slit not being open.

I ve checked all the slits and some were shut, so i ve opened them all, and i ve gone up a teat flow with still no joy and still got a very windy baby! :-(

Don't know about tt but with avent bottles we loosened the top ever so slightly and this seemed to solve the teat problem, unsure about the bubbles though sorry are they supposed to be there to let air into the bottle to replace the milk being drunk??? (grasping at straws) hope you can get it sorted

Won't fix bottle problem but have you tried using a tummy tub instead of baby bath? They get great reviews on helping relive cholic and trapped wind. I have bought one 'just in case' as my friends baby had terrible cholic and this was the only thing that helped. She tried various bottles all of which claimed to prevent / help cholic babies.

whats a tummy tub?? Does that mean i will have to bath her after every feed as im guessing its a bath?

My friend did not bath after every feed, just used it once a day in place of regular bath. because of the position baby is in when in it helps with wind. I got mine in john Lewis, but think mothercare have them online for around £19. Look them up on YouTube there are heaps of videos of them with babies in. or maybe speak with you HV depending on surgery i have heard that the have some you can borrow before you buy. good luck

We had the same problem with the TT teats collapsing in on the TT website under FAQs in the baby bottles and teats it states that....

Where should the Easi-Vent valve be when feeding my baby?
We recommend the valve to be at the top, near your baby's nose.
So I tryed it does help the teats not collapse in but I'm also using gripe water for my daughter which is also helping....

The OPs child is 5 years old now so I don't think she needs bottle advice anymore.

I can see this is a old post but I found out that the bottom bit of the anti colic the silicon part that attaches to bottom of the tube has a slit in it and it causes the tear to collapse I'll add a picture to show you all it's helped me so much !! Hope it helps someone eles xxx

I switched to these bottles a few month back and feel they caused more problems to begin with then doctor advised doctor browns anti colic bottles and can't recommend them enough!! Bit on the pricey side but definitely worth it
