Neocate discontinued?

We've been in hospital for 4 days with dd who refused to feed. After tube feeding and IV she was diagnosed with silent reflux and prescribed some medication alongside Neocate.

We are still struggling to feed her, but are managing 18oz in 24 hours (she is 11 weeks). Just been to get our prescription and doctors say it is being discontinued.

Is that right?

Original Neocate was discontinued some time ago. It's now called Neocate LCP. Is this what has caused the confusion? To my knowledge this is still available. You could always check with your pharmacy as often they have more information about availability of products than the gp, and can tell you if it's possible to order etc. Neocate have a website if you want to check any other details. Hope that helps x

Oh my eldest DD had neocate in 2005 as she was allergic to cows milk. That's sad if it has been discontinued :( although I thought it smelt like cooking oil Grin

There has been nothing on the allergy boards about Neocate being discontinued - and there would have been, as many children with cow's milk allergy are dependent on this stuff.

There are links to the manufacturer's websites here and here - you could ring them?
