How to make up Hipp Organic formula

Hi, DS only has formula at nursery and I've used the ready-mixed stuff up until now but I bought some powder because its much cheaper.

I was reading the box and it says to use water which has been boiled and left for 40 mins or so until it is between 40 and 50 degrees before mixing with the powder because it's got "friendly bacteria" in which would be killed off if the temperature was too hot.

However, I thought the water had to be a certain temperature to kill off any bad bacteria in the powder? I'm completely confused by the conflicting information!

I think you are right to question this, but unfortunately I don't know the answer. Hopefully someone who knows what they are talking about will be along soon Smile

Hmmm I might have to email them.

I find it very confusing, the whole killing off baterica thing. On some brands in the States it doesn't say anything about the 70 degree thing.
