Will my milk supply be affected?

DS is 12mo and bf- usually feeds first thing in the morning, bedtime and once/twice through the night depending on illness/teething.
We've gone away for 2 nights and left him home with grandma and expressed milk, and I planned to express and discard (no milk storage/way of effectively sterilising pump). This is the first night and so far have managed to express precisely nothing. It's never been a problem for me to express before, usually get at least an ounce or two off, and I've not had any engorgement either.

I'm wondering if I don't manage to express much at all the next 2 days, will this seriously affect supply as neither DS or myself are ready to give up bf yet. Don't know if this is an issue but 2 days ago I found out I'm pregnant.

Anyone?

When my DS2 was around 16 months old, my DH took me for a dirty weekend birthday break in Copenhagen. Three nights, I think. I meant to pump and dump but couldn't be arsed found it really difficult where I hadn't really in the past so I just didn't do it. Got back home and it was business as usual with DS2 (night and morning feeds).

Obviously it doesn't always work out like that but it did for me. Good luck.

I fell pg while bfing and dd complained about the lack of milk so it does happen. It's temporary though. Have you tried hand expressing? You should be fine to pick up where you left off, just keep trying.

Thanks. I did get about 2 oz off earlier this morning (finally!)
I did try hand expressing and a small amount came out but I can never do that for long (arthritis in hands). I'll try again tonight and see how things are when we get home tomorrow
