Clumsasaurus · 17/10/2012 23:52

Eugh... Babysaueus fell asleep 2 hrs ago and I was hopeful for some sleep but we have since had 2 hours if attempts to put him down again, he sleeps for 3 mins and wakes. Grrrr just had a poonami to deal with too and a climbing temperature (bloody jabs still making him grumpy) so a dose of calpol too. Now munching... Again

I think Ewan maybe ordered tomorrow - how are you all getting on with him?

Good luck tomorrow pops

Susieloo · 18/10/2012 01:11

1st feed of the night and I'm laughing a lot at healthy stiffGrin

I am also making split pea and bacon soup tomorrow!!

Be back not before half three I hope

MummyVicky18 · 18/10/2012 01:20

Hiya all, baby j has just gone 4hrs shame I only got 1.5/2hrs out of that. We had a lot to do tonight so didn't go to bed till later.

Going for a mother & baby photo shoot that DH bought for me Smile I'm looking forward to being pampered a bit Smile

Hopefully I'll get some sleep so I don't have mammoth bags under my eyes, having said that they can work wonders with photoshop lol Grin

See you all in 3 hours

Smallgreenone · 18/10/2012 01:35

Giggles at healthy stiff! I have a fridge stocked with food you can eat one handed and cold like quiche, scotch eggs, houmous also have discovered a recent love for scotch pancakes dripping in melted butter but they aren't healthy Grin!
funchum our bed routine is upstairs at 6ish bath, massage and feed to sleep. Piglet is 7 weeks old and have been doing it for a while. It seems to work most days. Then he normally wakes at 10 or so for another feed which DH does with a bottle of express milk and then he supposedly sleeps until 2/3/4 depending on how lucky we are- tonight however he woke at 1 so clearly doesn't always work!
I went to a group today and people were talking about there babies sleeping through the night- one was 9 weeks old and doing a full 10 hour stretch. I can't see baby small achieving that in two weeks time Hmm
Spreading sleepy dust to all.

Smallgreenone · 18/10/2012 01:36

Got antibiotics for my teeth too so hopefully in a day or so I will be able to come off my liquid diet. Still starving here!

funchum8am · 18/10/2012 01:37

Feeding again here and I have a headache :( trying not to wake DH as he has work tomorrow too (he sleeps rather too well for my liking actually, not sure I need to worry too much!)

Will put Ewan on when I put her back down so can report back then.

twizzlestix · 18/10/2012 02:01

Aaaargh! Had one 3 hrs sleep, she woke at midnight and has been awake since :(( she falls asleep on me but wakes when I put her down :( am currently feeding again after the 40min feed at midnight. Ridiculous!

missingmymarbles · 18/10/2012 03:10

She went down a bit earlier tonight at 8 and woke at 10.35 but this is the first feed since then at 2.35 so hoping to get to morning from now.

Had a bit of a panic this evening: I thought I'd go in the bath with Missmarbles, and without thinking too much put in a few drops of tea tree, which I occasionally add to my bath for skin care. I then completely panicked that she was then in a tea tree bath as well. Now I know we're talking tiny amounts (couple of drops in a bath full) but I have had a complete meltdown over itSad It doesn't seem to have bothered her at all, but I have felt terrible all evening. Tiredness and hormones.... Anyone else had any irrational meltdowns recently?

Routine wise, we do bath/wash around 6.30, into jarmies and then feed fest til into sleeping back between 7 and half past then another feed and into bed. I think whoever said it was right, a routine just emerges out of the chaosGrin

Well done to babies doing long stintsSmile

MummyVicky18 · 18/10/2012 03:23

Well only managed 2 hrs

Smallgreenone I know what you mean about people claiming to have had perfect sleepers

And marbles I have irrational meltdowns all the time but don't think u have anything to worry about with the tea tree x

See you all again shortly Smile

MrsNPattz · 18/10/2012 03:43

Omg we just got 4 hours!! Smile when I looked at the clock I had to rack my brains to remember what time we went down but we got 11:30-3:30. First time so sorry if it sounds like I'm bragging.

Lol at healthy stiff!! - maybe that's what I need Grin

Thanks once again for your suggestions - will do a shop at the weekend. My mum is coming on Saturday so hopefully she will cook me something yummy and nutritious Grin

MrsNPattz · 18/10/2012 03:45

marbles yes to meltdowns - my little man had a spot on his chin and I thought my milk had given it to him because I haven't been eating well, but it's just a milk spot Blush

Susieloo · 18/10/2012 04:12

I hate this feed!!! This is the one that babyloo does not like to settle to sleep after or if he does settle he then wakes after an hour.

Really want quiche now, we did go to sainsburys today and bought a French stick (dp calls it long bread which has stuck with me so I asked a member of staff where the long bread isBlush) and loads of pâté so I might have to have a little nibble to see me through till morning.

My dp sleeps too well and I have had a fair few meltdowns at around this time because babyloo won't settle and he has slept through them which I find intensely annoying. I also got really upset because I'm really struggling to keep his nails short and he keeps waking up with loads of scratches on his head so I sat him on my knee today and filed them with my emery board, he didn't mind it and this seems to be more successful than clipping or biting them.

Re babies sleeping through I always take it with a pinch of salt particularly if people say they have slept through 7-7 - I would be waking babyloo up because I would worry about dehydration!! Babyloo asleep on me in my attempt to avoid the hour of getting up and down. Will attempt transfer, if he could go through until 7 that would be amazing.

Hope everyone enjoying some sleepSmile

funchum8am · 18/10/2012 04:24

Feeding again here - she has had the left side for 20 mins at 3.15 which I thought was feed over so put her down but then she grizzled loudly so did nappy change then she did her best rooting motions and 'feed me' face and here we are again.

I had a meltdown the other day when she wouldn't feed on either side but kept crying for milk. Incredibly frustrating. I may also have problems tomorrow when I have to go out and about with her twice to appointments but as someone rightly pointed out, the hospital should be feeding-friendly at least.

She has just projectile vomited to top it all off!

missingmymarbles · 18/10/2012 04:37

Urgh! Up again.

Susieloo · 18/10/2012 05:48

We are up again too, wish he would do three hour stretches after his first big sleep , not sure if this is up for the day or not now, really hope not!!!

funchum8am · 18/10/2012 06:11

Ewan worked!!! She was grizzly again when I put her down about half 4 so on he went and she was asleep in minutes. When he stopped she woke up so I put him on again and again she nodded off.

Feeding again now as she didn't take much earlier though - bring back the 3 hour stretches...

Dh's alarm will go soon as he's back at work - I am sure he can fit in a nappy change before leaving :)

Smicha · 18/10/2012 07:12

I think Ewan works better on me than ds Confused I've had a couple of hours of deep sleep in between the four feeds tonight and I'm sure Ewan put me to sleep while I was watching ds and waiting for him to sleep! I'm only assuming he actually nodded off too!

Smicha · 18/10/2012 07:26

Also wanted to ask if anyone knows anything about breastfeeding pillows? Mini smich is gaining weight rapidly and I sense it won't be long before feeds become uncomfortable! How do these special pillows work and are they worth it? Let me know if you have any experience/suggestions.

MrsNPattz · 18/10/2012 07:36

We got another 3 hours, easily the best night we have had since little man was born. So I should feel refreshed but I still feel like I could sleep for a week!

smicha I bought a pillow for when I was pregnant but didn't use it, however it's great for breast feeding! Will have a look at the name later and get back to you.

Loislane78 · 18/10/2012 08:08

Yay mrspattz! Sounds like progress :)

smicha I just use a regular v pillow for feeding and works well for me. £6.99 from Dunelm :)

Yeah, interesting about these 9 wk olds sleeping through - how are they doing it Shock?? My LO is 9 wks and I think I'm v lucky with sleep but we still do 2 feeds at night (min) and if its a long stretch my boobs start getting sore and I wake up anyway! Sorry, not bragging, just saying when they're so little I wonder how they do it? Ah well, one day ladies.... :)

MrsNPattz · 18/10/2012 08:19

Talking about breast feeding soon on Lorraine!

missingmymarbles · 18/10/2012 09:18

She went back over until about 7, and then was up at half past. Not too bad, really. Not sure why she woke up at 10.30 but did 4 hours after that, then about 2 then 2 1/2 so OK I guess. Thanks for the reassurance about the tea tree Vicky, I am terrified she might have swallowed a little bit. Also, I am so thankful that she had a bit of an unsettled day, with loads of feeding and sleepiness before the bath, otherwise I think I would have been past myself with the altered sleep pattern overnight. She seems her little self this morning, but is having her first nap on my knee Blush I still feel really jittery about it, even though, I know that realistically she's fine.

MrsNPattz · 18/10/2012 11:17

Well Lorraine sparked a debate on Facebook this morning, my friend ranting about how she is made to feel guilty about bottle feeding and asking why there are breast feeding support groups and not bottle ones! I had to put my piece in as it annoyed me so much! The thing that annoyed me most was that she put it on Facebook cause it turned into a pro bottle feeding and 'breast feeders are making us feel bad' conversation Angry And breath......... Lol

MummyVicky18 · 18/10/2012 18:54

I think there should be support groups for both Smile I'm breast feeding and have had endless support to help me to be where I am now otherwise I think I would have given up after only a week or two but now I'm thinking of going onto the bottle the hv's almost refuse to give me guidance they should just help with any query .
