I stopped bf my 4 month old daughter 3 days ago but i really dont have a clue what im doing bottle feeding, how much, how often etc.
she doesnt sleep through the night so i'm scheduling feeds in the night out of the recommended amount she should have in 24hours but will this just encourage her to wake in the night? although last night in pure exhaustion i put her in bed with me and she went hours without needing a feed!
im so worried about over feeding, with bf i never had to worry.
My eldest daughter who was bf started sleeping through the night quite early on so i never had to think about it for her.

Not really experienced with ff, but I thought the current advice was to feed on demand?

All babies are different, but to give you a rough idea, my dd is the same age, and usually has 6 feeds a day. She has a bottle every 3 hours during the day, from 7am (which is when she normally wakes up in the morning) to 7pm, after which she goes to bed. Then she'll normally wake once during the night for a feed, but sometimes she sleeps right through, in which case I don't wake her. I always make up 6oz, which is what the formula packaging says to do for her age, but she normally only takes 4-5oz. This has been happening for weeks, and she is putting on weight perfectly, and is obviously happy and thriving. But all babies are different, so you need to find what works for you and your dd.

At that age my DTs were having 5 feeds a day at roughly 4 hourly interals (7am, 11am, 3pm, 7pm and wake for feed at 11pm) although of courseif they showed signs of hunger earlier than that then I would feed them sooner. I used to offer whatever the recommended ml was (I think probably 180ml?) but not stress if they left some, and if the bottle drained then offer more next time.

I'm in the process of weaning DD who is 16 weeks and I'm just offering a bottle every couple of hours. I was bottle feeding 7am-7pm and then breastfeeding evening & night & she was taking 3x3oz bottles which isn't very much. Started night weaning last night so breastfed her a few times and gave her 1 bottle and used a soother if she woke again (she has been feeding every hour at night from day 1 so have to knock that on the head!).

Today she's had about 4x4oz bottles but ideally I'd like her to take 5/6 bottles of about 6oz once we're totally finished BFing

Current advice is to feed on demand, I wouldn't wake her at night, but offer a bottle if she does wake up.

My son is 14 weeks and usually takes around 6oz every 3 hours during the day, goes to bed about 7 and wakes once or twice during the night, I usually offer him a feed if he wakes but sometimes he'll settle without it.

From your OP, you mention that this new regime is causing you anxiety and you're not sleeping, so why not go back to breastfeeding?
