Advice on combination feeding

I decided for various reasons to start bottle feeding DS for his daytime feeds. I started last week when he was 12 weeks, doing one feed at a time. I plan to try and keep the 7pm and 7am and any night feeds as breast (he still wakes once a night, but 7pm is his last evening feed, he doesn't have one at 10)

I started last week with the 4pm feed. Seemed to go ok. Yesterday I moved the 10am feed over to bottle. But this afternoon DS has seemed very irritable, after his feed by breast at 1pm , the only way I could calm him at 3pm was to feed him with the bottle. Not sure if this was a blip or if my supply is going down? I thought by waiting to 12 weeks this would have been ok?

Also, he's taking 5/6 oz every feed, and sometimes crying. Hes 15 lb and 13 weeks, and up till last week has been ebf. He remained at 75th centile even when bf. Is 6oz too much each feed? This would be 18oz on top of 3x breast feeds.

Am I doing this the right way? Last night he woke for 2 feeds, I thought by now he would be only doing 1 feed a night? I really don't want to end up 100% bottle feeding, but don't want to increase my supply again unless I really have to.

Any advice?

12 Weeks is very early to duo all day time feeds. Some women may be able to carry on feeding at this rate, but others will see a drop in supply which will lead to total bottle feeding. Your supply is really only just settled at this point so doing that many feeds will have an effect.

Feeding twice a night at 12 Weeks is actually very good, some one year olds still need feeding that often during the night.

Is there a specific reason why you want to drop all daytime feeds? Could you not comprise on maybe just one or two bottles for now.
