Is it possible to stop cluster feeding before they're ready?

idly flicking through a copy of the baby whisperer I was given for dd 2 years ago and it talks about stopping cluster feeding beyond 8 weeks. Just wondered if this was possible, sensible and more importantly how?

Threw the book away with dd as she wasn't going to have a routine for love nor money, so just demand fed until she decided otherwise. But nearly 8 wk ds is proving to be better at bf and sleeping, yey, and a little ray of optimism just popped into my head :-)
Any thoughts?

Baby Whisperer is pretty rubbish about breastfeeding. IME with both DCs they stopped cluster-feeding in the evenings after about 11 weeks of their own accord.

11 weeks sounds about the same timeframe dd went to. Have a vague but happy recollection of dd turning a corner the day before she was 12 weeks, and it all becoming a lot easier after that. Oh well, kind of thought it was wishful thinking, few more weeks to go......
