Put a hot water bottle in the cot whilst you are feeding, then when they go back in, its all warm and cosy ( obviously remove hot water bottle when baby goes in )

swaddling, so swaddle, and then cuddle then place in cot ??

I used to pat mine to the rhythm of a song, then place them and continue to pat and sing ???

That worked earlier think she's just greedy and wants more food when I put her down. Need to master the art of swaddling now that mini heat wave over ( she's only 2 weeks old)
Thanks recall

Things that have sometimes worked for me (and sometimes not):

Co-sleeping
Patting
Singing
Counting to 100/1000
Cuddling
Rocking

But the one that worked best is laying baby on tummy across your lap with you on chair and jiggling less rythmically, or sitting on floor with back against wall/sofa etc, put baby on tummy on your feet/ankles (with your feet pointing up to hold her in) and rolling your legs from side to side. Not sure if that made sense?!

ShobGiteTheKnid · 17/09/2012 03:34

jiggling legs not less

Oh, only 2 weeks? Swaddling definitely the way forward.

dummy ?

I've got an 8 week old ds, and while I know he won't stay asleep long, he is a swaddled sleepy lump on my lap at the mo. I'm waiting til he's properly asleep before putting him back in. I'm rubbish at swaddling, or ds is a little Houdini, so got a miracle blanket to swaddle him. He can't escape from that!

Feeding them into a stupor before putting back down! Both mine fed back to sleep during the night.
