Sickness bug and supply?

I've been vomiting since last night and feeling very weak. Have just had some toast and I'm hoping I can keep it down. Will this affect my supply? Dd is 10m and feeds around 5 times a day.

Very unlikely to, if you keep feeding your supply will soon perk up even if it does drop a little bit. Plus by carrying on, you will be helping DD get antibodies to protect her from the bug.

Hope you feel better soon.

Dd has already fed twice so far. I just hope I have enough throughout the day. I also hope she doesn't get it or the other dc for that matter.

Gina, sometimes mothers do notice a slight dip in supply if they themselves have a bug....but at 10 mths, your supply is very well-established and much less likely to experience any effect that you'd notice. Your baby will benefit from the protection of breastmilk and will also cope with any small dip - as will you, as you would just feed her an extra time or two if she appears to need it.

It's great to read you are still bf after your difficult earlier months....stay confident :)

Thanks tiktok I'm feeling terrible and to be honest just want to up in bed and sleep all day. I've had the worst week ever. Dd1 had emergency surgery over the weekend and needs looking after. I can barely hold dd3 to bf I'm so weak. Sad
