Hi, new to this forum would just like a bit of advice, i have a 10 week old baby and from the day she was born i have done full bf and expressed the milk and gave her a bottle aswell so her dad can give her a feed when i need to go out. The past 2 weeks she has refused the bottle completely and will only take my breast, I keep trying with the bottle once a day to try and get her used to it again but she is having none of it.
Any tips on how to get your baby onto or back onto the bottle?
Or has any one else experienced this with their baby?
Any advice and tips will be greatly appreciated. thanks

I'm no expert but have you tried cup feeding? It's time consuming but may work. Or have u tried different bottles/teats?

Hi, Thanks for the reply, No i havent tried the cup yet and i have looked at my teats and they are slow flow and the bottles are tommee tippie and she has taken them no problem in the past, But this last 2 weeks she just wont.
Didnt even think about trying her with a cup/beaker.
I will tey with the cup next and just see what happens.
thanks for the advice its greatly appreciated.

You could try a faster teat - the Tommee Tippee size 2 - and also I would get your DH to try the feeds, preferably when she's due a feed and you're out of the house.

she was taking feeds by her nan, auntie and her dad by the bottle for the first 8 weeks and now she wont take off anybody, im going to try the faster teat, hope it works.
thanks for the reply and the advice its greatly appreciated.

perhaps buy the variflow teats instead. lo can control the flow themselves. that way can take more when super hungry and a more gentle feed when less hungry or soothing

I had this problem and it was the teat, DD was frustrated as the breast was fast but the bottle slow. I'd go up a teat, hopefully you can persuade her to try it again.
