thrush and milk supply

Ds 8 weeks and I have been diagnosed with thrush. It is making feeding really painful one side in particular has reduced me to tears twice. Because it is so painful I have been trying to avoid that side and feed from just one side but ds is coming away frustrated and doesn't seem satisfied.

I have ended up giving him one bottle of formula a day for the last 3 days. Have I screwed up my milk supply by doing this?

You will have reduced your milk supply by doing this epically if you aren't expressing. But it's not nesacarly that you won't be able to get it back again. When your feeling better and can fed from that side then just drop the bottle, it may take a day or two but your supply should go back up.

I take it you have both been treated for the thrush?

We are in the process of treatment now. Some tablets and cream for me and drops for ds, started yesterday.

I expressed 7oz yesterday and have got the breast pump out again now. I'm just hoping my one breast can keep up!

Thanks for replying.
