Hello - I have had a slight pain in my boob all day, but thought it was just full. I have BF as normal, then this afternoon it felt very painful and I realised there is a hard sore lump running across the top. When I try and rub it kind of front of it feels as if the hard lump is lying in the centre behind the nipple. I have tried massaging it, I have tried getting my 4 month old baby to drain it but no joy - he doesn't seem to be getting much.

I have never been able to express and although i have tried again now, i still can't do it. I have been feeling very weak and dizzy all day, not sure if connected.

Just sat here worried and in pain, off for warm bath - anyone got any good ideas??

xx

Poor you!

Get in the shower (or bath, i guess), and make it nice and hot. Direct the shower towards the hard bit and then brush down. Use a comb if it helps, use conditioner to make it a bit more slippery. Keep getting the baby to feed on that side.

The dizzyness could be related, or not, if you've had as little sleep as I did with a 4mo! Seriously though, blocked ducts, or mastitis can give you a temperature sometimes.

You can see a doc, or take homeopathic remedies if you don't want anti biotics.

Hope it clears soon, it's no fun.
