Formula feeding - 3mo starting to wake earlier

Hi all,
I have been very lucky with my dd and she has been going to bed at the same time us , usually 10/10:30pm and then sleeping through till 8am for some time. This week she seems to be getting up earlier each day...

Her last feed before bed is always the least in terms of what she drinks as she is very often too tired and dropping off.

She has 5 bottles a day of 180 ml ,just putting this up to 210 as she is starting to drain some of them . Anyway my question is how do I stop her wake up time creeping forward as it is ? Or is this likely to be just a blip? Should we have a different routine at this stage ?

Anyone else formula feeding a 3 month old would love to know your feeding routine ?

Hi janmk, I'm formula feeding my 12-week old dd, have been since half-way through week two. We follow the Gina Ford routine, so she's taking 180ml at 7am, 10.30am and 2.30pm. We then split the next feed around her bath, so 90ml at 5pm and 120ml at 6.15pm. She's in bed by 7pm and has a final 180ml at 10.30pm which is a 'dream feed'. She sleeps until 7am pretty regularly although sometimes does wake at 6am.

The key to it is the daytime napping, I think, and keeping that under control. At this point GF recommends no more than 3.5 hrs sleep during the day and I have found that if she sleeps more during the day she will wake earlier the following morning. Maybe keep a tally of how many hours your dd is napping during the day?

Btw, not specifically recommending GF for your LO or anything, I know her methods can inspire passionate opinions on both sides & don't want to get into all that! Just saying that this is the routine we're doing & it's working for us at the moment.

Agree with Late - I use a loose GF routine, and always find that if my 4.5 month old sleeps too much in the day (more than 3 hours at the moment) he'll wake earlier. He is combined fed.

Thanks for your replies. My lo sounds similar in terms of routine and maybe you are right re the naps. She used to be awake nearly all day but has started to nap a bit more so maybe that is it. I wish I could say nap too !
