Thrush question ...help please

I have tried searching the archives but they appear not to be available, hence this oft asked question.

I think I have thrush, the stabbing pain through my nipple. Ds has probably also got thrush but not in his mouth. His thrush is all over his head and neck!!
The doctor is prescribing me Caneston cream and when I asked for Daktarin she said they find Caneston to be more effective. Ds is getting Nystatin drops.

Does anyone have any experience of this?

i was prescribed canestan and it helped a little but didn't get rid of it completely.
I ended up having to have fluconazole tablets

Do you know what the difference between Daktarin and diflucan are? Or are they the same?

no idea i'm afraid! I was never offered daktarin for myself.. only for ds

I spoke to the doctor on the phone this afternoon, picking up a prescription tonight and being seen tomorrow.
Ds is getting distressed and I'm getting uncomfortable

it's horrible isn't it? I ended up going to our NHS walk in thing at the hospital once because Dr wouldn't see me!

Obviously someone who hasn't had it.

Canesten contains clotrimazol

Me & DS had Daktarin for our thrush - it contains miconazole

and there my knowledge ends sorry
