blw - what things can she have?

I've successfully managed to keep both grannies at bay until now but as the big 6mo looms there is mounting excitement about being able to give her 'little bits of this/that'...

Now, for me lazy I'm happy to keep her ebf as long as possible. She still seems so young? Can't believe I was being spoonfed etc at 4mo! I'd happily give her a bit of banana to give her something cool to play with and taste but as for food, I'm happy breastfeeding. But The Grannies are so desperate I'm going to throw them a bone and let them give her stuff - but apart from banana, what stuff can she have? avocado? I don't eat bread. I don't want them giving her custard creams!

What exactly is baby rice etc? Should i let them spoonfeed her for fun? I really know nothing about baby nutrition, milk all the way for me til much later!

That's useful ladies! I'm struggling to decide between BLW and the Annabel Karmel book I've got. I like the idea of blw, but I'm a bit scared of the baby choking

Bopeep I have one of those little inexpensive tomee tippee cups. Dd likes waving it around at the moment and does take little sips of water from it, with help. She had a bit of banana yesterday so I thought she may need a little water after. I didn't give too much as obviously milk too important. I am planning to leave some expressed milk for dh to give in her cup if needed when I am not home.

You could do a bit of both piggymad, and see how you get on.

even if you go down the puree route, avoid AK like the plague, just puree what you're having

her stuff is rarely as savory as 6month olds can actually take, its in her interest to make babies into fussy toddlers/children so she can also selll her fussy toddler books and horrible children's ready meals!
