The Pill and BF

DD is now 9 months old and I've been on Micronor for the last six months. The thing is though, I've now had four bleeds in a row which are only a fortnight apart which is driving me mental as well as bringing serious harm to DH in the way of fortnightly PMT!

I have a doc's appointment on Friday to sort this out. Do I definitely need to switch to another similar Pill or can I now go back to the Combined Pill? I used to be on Microgynon which was fine for me. I know that the Combined Pill impacts on supply but how much of a problem does it really cause? DD is now firmly established on solids and feeds about 4 times a day.

My DS is 3.5 so quite a bit older than your DD and only feeding morning and bedtime but I switched to Microgynon in May and have suffered no loss of supply at all. Because DS is so old I probably wouldn't have minded if it had impacted on my supply (I was having a similarly awful time on various mini pills as you describe) and I think there's no way of knowing unless you try but research I did suggested the more established bf is the less likely it is to cause a problem.

I did have to arm myself with info when I went to GP as she was ill-informed about the effects of the Pill of breast feeding children and wa initially reluctant to prescribe it.
