Playtex Naturalatch Latex Nipple - Can they be used on other brands of bottle?

Have an Avent and a TT bottle (not interested in using the drop-ins bottle system) but like the look of these teats as they are apparently nice and soft and 'reduce nipple confusion'. DP has yet to try a bottle of expressed milk with my 8 week old DS.

Thanks

I've got the nurser system for my bottle refusing 5.5 mo DD not impressed with the bag malarkey so wouldn't bother with that! I will try the teat in my tommee tippee bottle for you tomorrow and let you know if it fits

joymaker · 06/09/2012 21:02

Lawabiding, have you had time to try it? did it fit?

They don't fit on tommee tippee or medula afraid! Don't have any avent x

Lawabidingmama · 06/09/2012 21:07

How funny was actually just doing this as you posted!

Lawabidingmama · 06/09/2012 21:12

Also the shape isn't all that different from other teats maybe try nuk I've heard they are good? If its latex your after you can latex tears to fit on medula I've got some and these are the only ones baby law will kind of tolerate near her!

joymaker · 08/09/2012 22:55

Law tried DS with the avent teat yesterday afternoon and he drank about an oz from it, about half of what I'd expressed , so was'nt bad going for a first go Smile but do think he found the teat a bit hard in texture from what I could observe.

Do the latex tears fit on your TT's? Bit loathed to by anymore bottles unless I have to as DP will only be giving him one feed a day(but will try the medula combo if I end up needing to- thanks for the tip!)

Sorry blooming iPhone ha no I meant latex teats! They aren't medula brand I got them from my lovely friend who is a midwife they use them at the hospital to help babies having trouble feeding to not get nipple confusion. She tells me they are available from boots they are 'binky' shaped ie the nipple bit is curved I think they call them orthodontic shaped?? They are similar to the nuk orthodontic latex ones. I would def recommend them as my DD has only on the past two days accepted a bottle using these :) she's previously totally refused!

joymaker · 11/09/2012 19:39

Grin thanks for clarifying. So do they only fit on the medula (and not the TT) if so think I'll have to buy one and the teat you recommend- Yesterday DS2 hardly managed anything out of the Avent as he was so frustrated!

Thanks again x

Right my advice get a nuk bottle with latex orthodontic teat DD has bottle refused till about a week ago she's 6 months she latches onto these a dream I've tried the playtex system with latex teat tommee tippee and medula. She would take some out of the medula but not much as she seemed to struggle to latch and the teat collapses a lot, as mentioned above I got a teat from the hospital courtesy of my midwife friend i dont know the brand it says 'steri feed orthodontic latex teat' on it these fit on medula and she will accept them but I haven't been able to get hold of any. I would def recommend latex as she seems to find silicon teats too hard. Good luck!

Hi Law, thanks for getting back to me on that. Didn't find the teats on the Boots website but got excited when I found them on ebay Smile. However these teats only seem to go up to 0-6 months and wonder how long after that they could be used- Do you intend on using these until your DD starts drinking milk from a cup? Last question about teats, PROMISE! Grin
