Baby will only feed lying down

Following from my earlier thread, my 5 mo DD2 was refusing to feed on my left side in the cradle or rugby ball holds, she has since decided that she won't feed in those positions on the right side either. Now she will only feed lying down next to me!

If I try to put her into the other positions she just screams without even touching the nipple. Please help! May have to resort to the bottle if this continues as I need to be out and about with DD1 so lying down isn't an option Sad

my ds was very one sided. and very tense. He had a traumatic entry into the world with forceps and the cord around this neck. He prefered one side to the other and had a better latch on that side. I took him to a cranial osteopath and she was able to feel the tension in him. He was restricted and sort of skewed when looked upon from a number of angles. It was only when it was pointed out to me that I could see it. Anyway, four sessions later and he was a much more relaxed baby that fed from both sides. I dont fully understand what she did but I believe it helped him. hth
Also have you tried laid back breastfeeding, you get comfy, slightly reclined and let baby make its own way onto the breast. Might be worth a try

Can you (when at home) get her latched on lying down and then gradually sit up? That way she gets used to the position by stealth? Also, 5mo is probably old enough to realise that when you are out and about lying down isn't an option - I mean she will know when she is 'home' and when she is 'out' so may be different out of the house?
