Bottle refuser suddenly changes her mind

Im wondering if anyone else experienced similar..

My bf 18 week DD has consistently refused bottles of expressed milk. I've tried her once a week with no success...

Until three days ago that is- she took six oz with no fight! And the same yesterday and today. Confused

I'm pleased about this as it means a bit more freedom for me and DP can give her an evening feed. But it's all so peculiar, I mean.. What changed?

Babies are funny little things.

I would love this my little refuser is 23 week and just either chews the bottle or screams blue murder! Tell me your secret....

I don't know Mama.. It's like she just decided it wasn't so bad after all.

I have had more success with Nuk bottles than any other if that makes a difference.

Does your DC accept a cup?

Wow! I'm sooo jealous!! Envy

My 15 week (corrected) DD used to take them fine, now is a refuser :(

I am persevering trying daily to get her used to it again.... Fingers crossed!

We've had the same problem until recently.Found the MAM bottles amazing after trying loads of others over the past 5 months. Dd took to this one straight away with no fighting etc. 3 weeks on and she still takes it fine!
So if anyone has a bottle refuser try the MAM ones, all the other types (avent/tommee tippee/medela calma/nuk) didn't work in the slightest for us, all she used to do was suck once and then scream and push bottle away or just chew on the end like it was an expensive leaky dummy!

And before anyone asks, no j done work for MAM it's just after nearing to our wits emde trying to get her to take a bottle for the last 5 months we've finally cracked it!

I got her a tt explora cup but so far just messes with it! I've tried quite a few different bottles including an American one called the playtex nursing system which claimed 90% success rate seems baby law is in the 10%! Not tried mam or nuk but I'm loathe to waste more money!

Worry not Law, it's evident your baby is very clever and knows exactly what she wants. Smile

Well, after some perseverance (trying every day at least once, sometimes whilst asleep, sometimes whilst happy and playing in bouncer), DD periwinkle has finally taken some more from a bottle... 2 lots of 30mls, and then yesterday 2 lots of 50mls.... Woo hoo!!!! :o

And using mam teat in avent bottle. Still won't accept it bam after a burp, but hopefully if we keep going she'll get more and more used to it and then accept it without a fuss when awake/after a burp etc. at least it's a start- so relieved!!!
