To all those that manage to bf in public discreetly can you please give me some tips.

What do you wear, how do you latch without waving your boob around, how do you juggle baby and get the out without flashing?

I'm a fan of the top up / top down method - vest top under your t-shirt or other top; pull t shirt up, vest top down, pop boob out, baby on and rearrange clothing to cover!

Yep, I layer it up too, same way. M&S do good cami vests.

In hot weather if you don't want to flash too much flesh you can just tuck a muslin under your bra strap and pull your top down.

Try practising in front of a mirror if you're worried about nip slips.

My biggest tip us to just get on with it tbh. 9/10 people won't even notice what you are doing. Failing that, I used to tuck a muslin into the other bra strap, bring it behind my neck, and drape it over DDs head till we were sorted :)

I invested (3 for £12) in some pashmina-type scarves, and I had a great empire-line jersey dress. Pop the scarf around your neck, use the drape to cover chest, pull top down. When baby has finished, rearrange clothing under scarf, proceed as normal.

Saying that, I had DD in the winter when layers were practical and wearing a scarf was not amiss. :)

I had a breast feeding cover with DD2. As I'm very self conscious too. No one could tell, and DD and I could still see each other.

I do the vest underneath, I just worry that I am making it obvious pulling up my top etc.

Thanks for the tips!

I would tend to agree with Anita. Just do it is the best way. I was self conscious at first but after a few times of no bad reactions I just got on with it. I have never had anyone dare catsbum at me.

I have one of these. I call it my burka. It gives me confidence to bfeed in public in peace :)

I found scarves good as they could be stretched out and give good cover but baby didn't roast under there Smile.

Massive recommendation for the breast vest, google it. I think I got mine from rosebud baby or something. Completely removes any faff and no need to buy pointlessly complicated breastfeeding tops. Best buy ever!

Cheap primark vest under a top, top up, vest down. You can't tell. Also ring sling actually covers the baby so you can't see anything. Also! I was paranoid people could 'tell'..., but no one ever said anything / staired etc. once you get the first time BlushBlush over with the rest is easy
