Ok im breastfeeding dd she is just 6 months, have up until now had ok/moderate milk supply, for some reason today im completley engorged!! i have LOADS of milk, she hasnt suddenly fed more in the last few days, no growth spurt, nothing i can think of, i have had to express a few times today (which i never do usually) to help my self out, and even then half hour later im leaking through my shirt (which has never happened to me before even when i just started breastfeeding, or with my other two) wtf's going on?? help!!

Maybe she's been feeding a bit less, the last few days? Has she dropped a night feed? Suddenly started eating more solids?

It's best not to express to fix these sorts of problems, as expressing more just makes your body make more milk.

Maybe she's just got more efficient at getting the milk so you haven't noticed she's taken more .

Thanks nqc, but she hasnt changed any of her feeds at all, she has a very tight routine and there's been no changes to it at all! (im only expressing tiny amounts for comfort)

That sounds pretty bizare it has to be said!
I'd express a bit more and pop it in the freezer.

If it's just an oz or two, it won't do any harm.

Actually - funny you should mention this - because I've been feeling the same the last few days. DD just over five months. I even leaked through a t-shirt and sweater on Friday - which I haven't done since the very early days (and therefore why I don't bother with breast pads anymore). I'd put it down to her being a bit snotty and feeding a bit less, but since I'd be hard pressed to say how many times a day she usually feeds, I couldn't be sure (we definitely don't have a routine... Grin).
