ny ideas how to get dd to take a bottle for more than a couple of days then point blank refuse?

We've tried Avent, tommee tippee ctn with different teats and medela calma take it for a couple of days okish and then refuses. Tried with ebm and formula and no difference.

I'm at my wits end as I need to start some medication pretty soon and I cant take it whilst bf and there a're no other safe alternatives.

I'm open to all suggestions no matter how daft sounding or expensive!

have you checked on lactmed or with the breastfeeding network about the drugs you need to take?

You need to pick one bottle, one type of milk and persevere with that. Changing things all the time won't help.
Get DH to give it. Choose a time when she's not starving hungry or sleepy. You need to leave the room.
Do it every day, make it part of the routine.
Absolutely no fuss or stress if she doesn't take it.
She'll get there, I promise.

Hi my dd was a bottle refuser and around 4 and a half months ish I started to give her water in a tommy tippee first cup which she quickly got used to. I soon started to put ebm in it and she just about managed to drink from it. She's just under 7 months old now and for the past few weeks I've been using the tommy tippee easy drink cup and she drinks milk out of this brilliantly. I, personally, would give up trying with a bottle at this age, it will save you having to wean off the bottle in a few months time.
How soon do you need to get her drinking formula?

The tommy tippee cup selection can be found here:

Hi

I've been trying to get my ebf 3 month old to get used to a bottle because I'm returning to work soon(ish) and I want to wind down bfeeding.

I'm working my way down the list of suggestions here and here . It has been 10 days for me already (with a break last weekend), and I'd bloody love it if she would just take the bottle already. But she hasn't. I figure persistence and patience is the key, but my God it is driving me nuts.

My DS who wouldn't take a bottle at 5 months. The HV told me I had no chance and would have to BF him till he was weaned - which made me feel a total slave (depressingly normal standard of HV helpfulness in my miserable experience ...).

In the end, a NUK bottle with a brown rubber teat (as opposed to a clear silicone one) was the answer - they feel much more squashy like a nipple and DS was fine with it. I think I gave it to him with water in just to suck on, tried it with EBM but mainly tried with formula. This was when I had just started to wean him, so he was getting used to new flavours in any case, hence not worrying too much about EBM. I gave him a bottle to try each time after his puree etc, not trying to pretend it was like breast feeding, but giving it to him as something different. One day he just tucked into a whole 4oz of formula and never looked back. I practically danced for an hour afterwards :-)

A couple of friends have since had success with NUK and rubber teats when nothing else worked, so that would be my recommendation.
