I was telling a colleauge what an eager feeder ds is and how he feeds very often. To which they replied typical bloke eh, loves boobs.

It just makes me feel a bit yuk to sexualise bf like that but the at 4 weeks post birth maybe I am just being a bit sensitive?

Bit icky but surely only said in a lighthearted way.

Scarredbutnotbroken · 15/08/2012 15:42

Euw I hate those comments too. 'a booby baby' 'boob monster' even encouraging the child to call bf 'boo boo' etc irks me and I'm a huge lactivist.
My exp insisted on sexualising bf and IMO its just not on

Did you ask him if he is still bfing to then as he "loves boobies" Grin.

Rachog · 15/08/2012 16:08

I just laughed it off because as heavensmells says it was said in a lighthearted way but I will remember your comment for next time jilted!

Glad its not just me scarred. Noone would comment about a bottle fed babies feeding habits in that way.

I don't like those kind of comments, but I feel it would be bad to challenge it really - it's meant well. But yes: ick.

itsybitsy08 · 15/08/2012 16:41

Its a bit ick really isn't it.

But, seems to be part of the list of "things people say, without really thinking, no offensive intended"

You did right, laughing it off if it was said in a lighthearted way :) not really worth getting into a discussion over.
