Nipple / breast pain - advice/help please!

Hello DC2 is 10 months. Has been EBF from birth, no real issues, is still BF with solids.

For the last month or 2, ive had on/off pain in one nipple. I had a white spot, and after reading kellymom, I lanced it (!). Things settled down, white spot 'faded' into nipple but never really went. Now, today I have had a fever, felt shivery, dizzy, achy joints with quite a lot of pain when I feed from that breast (have been doing so, as I know stopping feeding that side is not good long term. The 'soreness' makes me do a sharp inake of breath...

Ive googled mastitis, but I have no 'red' patch, and Im not sure my fleuy symptoms are related.

Any ideas what it could be?

Suspect a trip to my GP may be needed......

Thrush? I had this in my breast and it was v painful until Dr gave me some stuff for it. More common with newborn babies though I think? Sorry not to be more help.

I would go to GP to get checked out - I had no red patches or flu symptoms, just breast pain but the doc thought it was mastitis and prescribed antibiotics.
