I expressed 150mls this not ing at around 10.30...just got home to find I've left it out on the side rather than in the fridge.

Can I still use it or should I throw it out?

How old is your LO? Personally I would use it past 6 months, but not for a littley.... NHS advice would be to chuck it though....

He's 18 weeks...I'm so gutted! Took me bloody ages. Just seen on kellymom you can keep it out for 4 hours but I would hate to make him ill.

I'd use it if it smells ok, dd is 6 wks and I've left milk out when I've fallen asleep after pumping!

Suckeddry · 14/08/2012 14:55

When you say use it, do you mean straight away? House is average temp & the milk feels cool. Have put it in the fridge now. Could I use it for the next feed?

Take a look at it / sniff it - if it has gone off, you would definitely be able to tell. I've only had BM go off once, and it looked all curdled as I poured it into the bottle (just like cows milk looks like when I goes off) so I knew it was gone.

TeaandHobnobs · 14/08/2012 14:57

Ooo but I wouldn't put it back in the fridge I think Confused I'd use it or dump it...

Ok great. Smells & looks fine. DS not due a feed for an hour or so, should I fridge it or leave on the side until then?
