/I am bf ds who is 3 weeks tomorrow.

Last night he woke looking for a feed every 30-40 minutes feeding for 15 minutes or so at a time. at 4am he started a marathon feed and between wind, feeding, nappy changing and screaming I didn't get him to sleep again until 7 then he woke at 8 and apart from a 50 minute sleep has been looking for feeds ever since. I ave managed to snack and doe for short periods but not slept deeply at all or had a proper meal.

Close to tears. dp has taken dd out which helps.

ds on breast again nd showing no sign of stopping

what can i do?

sorry typing with one finger

Firstly have you had your positioning and attachment checked to make sure he is getting enough milk at each feed? And if it has been checked - get someone else to check it to make sure - preferably a breastfeeding counsellor at your local breastfeeding support group or a lactation consultant or similar. If you can also get him checked for lip and/or tongue tie.

Is the frequency of feeding the only problem, or are there any other "symptoms" like low output in nappies, pain, misshapen nipple etc?

If everything is fine though is may be a growth spurt, and cluster feeding - which can seem relentless but usually only lasts for a couple of days before it is back to normal...

For help with eating/loo yourself I can totally recommend getting a ring sling - and get to a sling meet (or they may have some at your breastfeeding support group you can hire) so they can show you how to feed in it - it will leave you at least one hand free - both hands free with practice! At least then if he is on the breast all the time you can still get on with stuff, like eating Grin.

DD Would NOT be put down ever and fed hourly then 2 hourly round the clock (and still does if I'm there at 14 months) and without slings I swear I would have gone insane.... Grin
