Is it ok to give a 7 month old EBF baby a one off formula feed??

My ds is 6 months but we are going to a wedding in september. Kids are not invited to the evening do and I am a bridesmaid. He has never had formula - is weaning really well at the moment but I am absolutely rubbish at expressing!!!! I can try for ages and get next to nothing then put him on the boob and he has a full feed??!!! Was the same with my DD...
What I want to know is if it is ok to give him one of those little cartons of formula if he wants a feed when im not there?? Like when Im getting ready in the morning (hair, makeup, dress and traveling etc) and then I would feed him normally through the day and just before he goes to my mums (and I will be staying there overnight once the wedding has finished).
Im worrying loads as I know im rubbish at expressing and I dont want to make him ill!!!
Any help and advice on which formula etc would be amazing - thankyou x

Yes, absolutely fine! :)

You may want to try him with it before the day though incase be hates it

Actually, as a one off cows milk is probably fine too - if he has that on cereal then he's prob more used to the taste

Thankyou! Im a novice with this formula stuff haha! He would have to have it out of a beaker aswell as he laughs at bottles... Will try him with some see what he does x

Yes of course it's fine. Especially at six months, the odd formula feed won't do any harm to your supply I'd reckon. I use those cartons from time to time and breastfeeding is still going fine. I tend to use Aptamil but now I have seen the SMA ones with the spout and teat that attach to the bottle I might have a go of those as no bottle to sterilise.

I find I can miss one feed with little problems except needing to hand express a bit for comfort but I can not miss two feeds (unless I then pump a few ounces instead of feeding, say if I have had a fair bit to drink) so if you are feeding normally in the day, you are unlikely to miss two feeds in a row, although you will probably need to pump in the night.

It isn't going to make him ill. Lots of babies are FF from birth and although there are health disadvantages, it isn't arsenic in a bottle and the odd carton now and then will have no ill effect.

Yes absolutely! Definitely try in advance though.

When my DD was that age I started leaving her with DH on the odd afternoon and he gave her one of the ready mixed cartons of formula in a beaker. She gulped it down and my supply was fine. I never did expressing as DD didn't take a bottle.

I didnt mean it in a bad way against the formula - I know its not going to harm him but combination feeding my dd made her really sick and gave her dodgy poo's so had to stop it and feed loads to increase my supply!!!!

Yeh sounds fine. Just be prepared that he might refuse it and you might have big boobies all day hehe! But hopefully he wont mind it.

My daughter is 5months and ebf and will take formula if I have to pop out. I'm also rubbish at expressing (glad I'm not the only one!). The only thing I find when she has formula is her nappies absolutely stink!
