Is it the formula???

My 13 month old son has recently been having stomach issues. This seems to get worse everytime I give him milk, he was bottle fed from birth as I could'nt breast feed and drinks SMA & has never changed formula. He has constantly been having diarrhea & only stopped when I stopped giving him formula. I contacted our local doctor who said it was a phase and would eventually pass. The problem is, the diarrhea was so bad it gave him rashes & that was a horrific experience. Does anyone have experience with this??? baby suddenly going off formula milk, I am not sure because he has been fine up until now... help...

it could be a temporary lactose intolerance if he has had a tummy upset. At 13 months he could have full fat cows milk rather than formula - you can get Lactofree which is cows milk with the lactose broken down which may be worth a try.

Thanx... I will try that... I absolutely hate seeing my baby screaming during diaper changes because of these nasty rashes...

Agree with vodka at 12 months you can ditch the bottles and the formula and switch to full fat cows milk. He needs 300 ml a day until he is 2. I'd try the Lactofree and if it persists see your GP again.
