Engorged at (almost) 5 mnths

So my DD is nearing 5 mnths and sleeping 12 hour nights. Altho this is splendid, I am waking with sharp pains in my breasts and they are very engorged rock solid OUCH!
I have hand expressed a tiny bit in the night, but after each feed I am still left with sore, hard lumps to massage out.
Now my breasts are tender and I'm feeling tired and emotional. I don't feel that either of us are ready to wean - but do I need to start FF and stop EBF? Any help would be really appreciated.

Yes and yes, I think you're right and it's a duct indeed. Thank you so much for your advice, it really helps.

Stopping bf will make it worse. If you have blocked ducts or feel any risk of mastitis then you need to feed feed feed. Also DS went through a period of sleeping all night around that age but dont worry it didnt last for long Grin.
I used to lie in bed wishing for him to waken so I could feed him.
