I work in school and I go beack to work- I am breastfeeding so will need to express? I think it will be so weird for the school to hear that - I really embarrassed to ask? All classroom are fitted with the little windows, so I do not know whether they can find the room. how shall I approch my employer about it? or can I expres in the car?

I used to use my electric pump at work, we have some shower rooms and I used to sit in there. I have also pumped in my car but I used to work out on the road a lot (in a very male dominated role) and it was the only place to get any privacy. I used to hide the pump under my top and then I'd sit with the paper reading so the newspaper would hide everything else :o

shall I fotmally approach HR to discuss this/ let her know - as this will go to thd Head etc. or shall I ask the head of the department whether medical room is ok?

I'd speak to the head. It's under some working regs that bf mums should be given adequate breaks to express without loss of earnings. They should be provided with a private place to do it (not a toilet!) and should be provided with adequate storage facilities. I'm due back in nov so been doing my research. A friend who works for bfn sent lots of helpful info Smile

I did it in a very clean out of the way disabled loo without telling anyone and kept it cool in a freezer bag. That was the best compromise for me and I did that with three babies.
