Is this me or do I need a new pump?

I am EBF DD who is 8 weeks. I have been pumping every now and then for a "one day when i go out" freezer supply. The last few times I have pumped,I've got really little and today only 1/2 oz.A few weeks ago,I was able to pump 4-5 oz.

My pump is a Medela swing which I got when I has DS 2 years ago - do you think the pump needs replacing? or is this a reflection on my supply?

Time of day can make a massive difference. If I pumped when DS was having his morning nap, I could get about 7oz from one side. If I left it until evening, I struggled to get 5oz from both sides.

I know some people really struggle to pump after the first couple of months as the supply starts to match demand. You may need to pump a bit more frequently to trick your body into supplying more.

That's a really good point nancerama I had been doing it every now and then as I have a baby and a toddler plus I didn't want pumping to become a big deal ( DS never bf,for a no of reasons and I pumped 6-8 times a day for 9 weeks which was not good for my mental health) but as I am keen for DD not to have formula for as long as possible,I'll try pumping everyday for a while to see if I can up my yield again.
