My ds is 10 days old and exclusively b fed.
He is now demanding feeding every 1-2 hours, day and night and only feeding for 10 mins or so.
He has put on 5 0z in his first week, so I musyt bwe doing something right,
Should I keep feding on demand, or try and make himwait in the hope he'll take more?

that's normal and right (Imo) in the first few weeks. his tum is only tiny, and frequent feeding is best to establish your supply.

maybe try to space the feeds a bit if he doesn't do it himself after 4 weeks or so, but until then, make sure the wander phone and tv remote are handy and enjoy him!

congratulations btw.

just carry on doing exactly what you're doing now. i have demand fed both of mine, & dd is still a snacker at 8 months. well done on such a good initial weight gain :).

Thankyou.
It's been a long time since I've done this, and I was beginning to worry. It's hard with older children, too, so maybe I just didn't notice so much before.Smile

Jasnem congratulations!

feeding on demand was recommended to me when my were young as they were small babies and due to the small amount they took. I remember them feeding every 1-2hrs. larsxx

someone should invent a utility type belt for bf mums with pockets for phone, remote, muslin square etc, would make life a bit easier!
