ok she was born at 5.45 yesterday am. Was feeding ok during the day but since 9.30 pm last night she has jus literally been at ny breast everytime I take her off she cries so I haven't slept at all and my nipples are so so sore already:( I know my milk won't be in yet but she has had a lot of meconium 3 loads not noticed wee maybe due to the v dirty nappies? I'm now sterilising a bottle as I his need to sleep even just for an hour. Any ideas or is this normal as I do not remember this with my other two

We went out today to the park then for lunch at a restaurant found it quite fiddly trying to get comfortable and she didn't seem to settle after feeds and kept crying in the pushchair which was stressing me a little bit :( but I'm sure it will get easier! It's difficult getting a blanket to stay over shoulder it kept galling off !

It's early days, it will get better. Everyone's baby is fussy at one point or another. If trying to put a blanket over your shoulder doesn't work try wearing a stretchy vest under your top. You can lift your top up then the vest down and you won't be exposing any tummy. You really can hardly see any breast when feeding this way, because you're looking down on it you might think you're exposing a lot but you're notSmile. They practicing in a mirror and you'll see!

Use a Muslin cloth end you can tie one end to your bra strap so it won't fall down.

Oooooh good ideas thanks ladies ! I also found as she is 9lb and very long holding her was really killing my back whilst feeding on the bench but I'm sure with more practice we will get there!

i use to lift one leg up (like you're resting your foot on a stool) to help to hold DD's long body.

maybe you could rest your foot on the base of the pram to do this?

Cheekychops84 · 09/08/2012 11:54

Yes that's what I do I will try on the pram as we are attempting the park again today as it's so nice out so I will tie a muslin to my bra aswell and see how that goes. I've ordered a breadtfeeding apron off eBay they look good and discreet and u jus pop it on over ur head :)
