TOP TEETH

dd has just had 2 top teeth come through, the more they grow the more she sinks them into my boobs when feeding.....owch!!!
the bottom ones dont hurt me at all. she isnt biting me, she just seems to grip my boob with the top ones.
will this get better as she gets used to them?

so far dd isn't biting when she feeds- she bites when she tries to eat my chin and nose, but my boob has escaped.

(hers have only just broken through though...)

Ds did this to me. I kept taking him off and saying 'no biting, be gentle' and eventually he got the message.
Once screamed when he bit me really hard and he would go near me to feed for ages after!!

My DD's biting/scraping has subsided as she's gotten used to the teeth being there... But not before a few loud shoutys from me when she's got me accidently . No idea if its the mummy yelps or her natural adjusting that's helped her learn to not use them though!

Oh and its been a couple of weeks since it broke through...

Yeahhhhhhh, with you there too! DS is currently a bit of a snaggletooth with one gangly top tooth. He's not particularly biting with it, but is Bob Clampit and just chows down on me all flaming night. I haven't had sore nips like this since the early days (he's 10.5mo). Trying to go 'back to basics' to ensure a good deep latch but it isn't working so far!

It does stop eventually :) My DTs didn't often bite, but their top teeth did rub for a while until either they changed their latch (maybe in response to my yelps?) or my nipples toughened up?!

Bottom teeth aren't such am issue unless the actually bite you as Thor tongue extends over the bottom teeth when feeding :)

taken ages to find time to get back on here, thanks everyone. mombo, i think mine is a bob clampit like you say, she doesnt so much bite as clamp. she doesnt do it in the day very much but same as you night time chow is painful. like you say, nips are hurting again after months of painfree feeding!!! i still love breast feeding though and its not enough to make me want to give up.
