Oversupply driving me a bit crazy

Any ideas to help? DS is 3 weeks old. I leak constanrly from the side I'm not feeding from. I did collect the drip milk in breast shells and it was often 100ml or more per feed. I've stopped doing that now as it was faffy and Tiktok suggested the shells could make it worse. So I'm just using muslins or terry nappies to soak it up, but am managing to soak a bra and/ or my clothes at every feed!

Feeding while out is difficult! I know it's probably a minor problem, but could do with any tips to help. I've found that a more reclined position from me and more upright for him helps DS manage the fast flow better.

:(

Try super-absorbent disposable nappies or maternity sanitary towels.

What a nuisance....

Expensive options but would save on laundry! It really is frustrating and sounds such a silly thing to be annoyed about.

I had this problem and it certainly does get better. Four months in and I haven't had the 'baby face covered in milk while baby splutters and chokes' situation for many weeks. Hang in there and look forward to 7-8 weeks in!

On the plus side, you will probably find expressing much easier if/when you need to. I have.

Feed several times from one side before switching to the other. This makes a huge difference. I had to go 12 hours using only the left breast then 12 hours on the right.
And feeding lying on your side can be much easier for the baby to manage the speed and large amount of milk.
Good luck - oversupply can be really hard to manage but it will get better even if it takes months rather than weeks.

My Dd is 19 weeks and were struggling with over supply I can express 8oz in the morning off one breast and also have had three changes of clothes I have bought some Lilly pads breast pads which help loads but I still use the shells because I hate the thought of wasting it I hope you manage to sort it out soon, bump for more suggestions though x
