Does the leaking settle down?

DD is 4.5 weeks old now and EBF. I've just soaked a top because I forgot to put a pad in when I got dressed.

Does it ever stop? If so when? It's a little annoying Smile

Yes it does, definitely.

The timing is different for each woman, and each baby. I honestly don't remember when I stopped needing breast pads but by two or three months they only needed changing once or twice a day, not at every feed.

Agree with Ruth, at the moment you and your LO are just learning how much to make and how much to take. Have you looked at using Breast Shells?

BedHog · 22/07/2012 14:55

It might not stop completely, sorry. DD is nearly 9 months, and I still have to wear pads. They don't leak at random times though, but when she feeds from one side, the other leaks.

I've heard about breast shells but not really looked into them. It is mainly when she feeds that the other side leaks.

I was beginning to wonder this myself - don't remember needing breast pads past the first week last time, this time I'm 5 1/2 weeks in and I've only noticed that in the last day or two the leaking's stopped.

I think leakage depends on the person tbh - I know a few people who never wore breast pads, ever, whereas I wore them until I stopped bf (when DD was 12 months).
