Ds is 11 days old and for the last 24 hours has gone from being quite contended and feeding really well to a cycle of being breastfed, he is a really good eater and putting on weight fast and lots of wet and dirty nappies, falls asleep on my boob and before he would happily settle in his Moses basket he now wakes after ten minutes screaming and thrashing and usually with hiccups, he then wants feeding again mainly for comfort, he is not a burpy baby and used to settle after lots of farty poos but that's not working now, he gets really red and cross and will only settle when back on my boob, last night we repeated this cycle every twenty minutes or so, if it is comic should I try infacol?

Not an expert, but I would say more likely to be the 10 day growth spurt. Just keep deeding until your supply increases.

Feeding!

This is normal behaviour in a young baby - he wants to be close to you for comfort and love and does not like being alone. Less than 2 weeks ago he was inside you....easier to go with what he wants instead of fighting it :) That means not expecting him to tolerate being settled in a basket for long. He won;t be like this for long :)

Thank you both, I'm demand feeding him so I'll carry on, he's my first so it's hard to know whats wrong, he is never left to cry without being picked up for a cuddle, i just can't bear to see his little face look like his tummy or something is hurting him.

Hi Susie

My lo is only 4 weeks old (also my first) and I can remember on days 9&10 crying because she would not stop feeding! She then went back to her previous routine.

It's so weird! Hope it settles soon :)

Thank you Frog that's good to know Smile I was worried that if he was struggling with his tummy and I kept putting more in to it that it would make it worse, explains why he was non stop feeding last night now.
