How do I descale my steriliser?

There is a build up of brown limescale at the bottom of my Avent steriliser which I just can't get rid of. I've always tried to descale it regularly but neither the citric acid sachets, or white vinegar, seems to shift it. Any suggestions?

The citric acid should have worked.
How much water did you use?

I followed the instructions exactly - think it was 200ml? It does get some of it off but most of it is still there. I even tried repeating it again immediately afterwards, but even that didn't work! Very strange...

Don't use tap water straight from the tap - boil it, then keep it (cooled down, obv) in an empty plastic milk bottle in the fridge. Pre-boiled water much less scale-inducing, IME.

Hmmm

You need a kim and aggie style tip!
Don't know what else to suggest apart from what you've used.

I know - I also tried Bundles but that was taken as well Wink

Thanks for the tip hunkermunker - will do that in future!
