Blocked ducts help please!

I've suffered with blocked ducts a couple of times since DD was born but despite it being painful I've always managed to shift them within 24 hours by massage, heat and DD feeding feeding feeding.
This time though I'm struggling. DD is reluctant to feed from the blocked side although will do so if sleepy. So my question is will she be getting less milk from the blocked side and hence this is why she won't feed or is she just showing a preference to the other breast and this has then caused the blocked duct?

It's very painful and I'm paranoid as DD has a history of poor weight gain due to a heart condition and I've had to work hard to continue bf alongside supplementary feeds of a high calorie formula twice a day.

Thank you for reading! Any advice welcomed!

I think it can be either way round, or even a bit of both. If she's not feeding from the problem side very well, could you perhaps express? Also have you see. the Kellymom information on blocked ducts?

Thank you red kites. I have been expressing but seem to be getting less than usual from the blocked side although my expressing amounts are random and vary daily.
I guess I just have to keep offering and trying.
