Bf and chicken pox

Is it possible for children to get very mild chicken pox as a result of breast feeding dd is 13 months and cp doing the rounds she is covered in tiny spots which look a bit like white heads and some have now gone red.

DD got cp off her brother when she was 5mo and still ebf. He was covered in around 200 spots but hers just seemed to time out at about 15 spots which went quite quickly. They were mainly around bottom and tummy and didn't go all crusty and horrid like proper cp spots. They were a bit white head like and just sort of faded away. She wasn't ill at all.

I dabbed them with breast milk and kept her sans nappy for as long as practical. (Was the Summer though).

The only downside is that I don't know if she is properly immune to cp or not now! I read something somewhere about how breast feeding damages the cp virus so it can't take a decent hold.

That's exactly what hers are like Confused to send her to nursery or not that is the question?

if it is chicken pox then you should keep her off nursery as she will be contagious until the spots crust over

My dd got cp from my son. She was 3 mo and ebf at the time.
She had very few small spots but given ds had had it about a week or so earlier it was obviously cp.
I think it was definately antibodies in the bm that preventedit from being worse.
Luckily I was on ml, so I was off with them both anyway and just stayed home for a fortnight.
If she's got it which it sounds as if she has please don't send her to nursery as she could infect another baby who is not bf.

My DD got it when she was 7 months and BFing. She got it off her brother. He had it quite mild, whereas my DD was covered in it. The BFing didn't make it milder in her case!

Don't worry I'm sure this morning it is chicken pox so haven't sent her.
