Silent reflux?

Have been having a bad time of feeding and sleeping since dd2 (now 17 weeks) was 12 weeks.

No sleeping and real screaming and arching away from boob even when starving. Seems to give in to feeding when hunger is worse than pain/frustration. Not unsettled post feeds though and settles okay on back in cot though. Constantly chewing at fist though.

Gp has said reflux and given us gaviscon to try. As no more vomiting than 'normal' is this silent reflux? Feeling very lost!

Bf - she won't take dummy or bottle - I would like to add bottles in but no luck. Seem to spend most of my time boobs out trying to feed a screaming baby. Have stopped going out even to dd1's groups as feel so overwhelmed by it.

Anyone else had and survived this??

Gp has

aw pomme i'm sorry to hear it's been such a 'mare for you. Try looking here for some information. Have you been keeping her a bit more upright before/ after feeds? I think if the gaviscon doesn't work you can try a couple of other things (possibly ranitidine and domperidone but don't quote me on that!???) but if you you don't get much traffic here maybe copy your post to general health as well?
Have you tried slinging her after feeds so she's upright but with some pressure on her belly and could nod off? Or a bed wedge?
I found this thread with some tips too. Find out from the receptionists at your gp if any of them specialise in babies/infants. I know all the gp's at our practise specialise in different things and it can really make a difference to see someone who knows more about it. It may also get worse if she is teething as she'll be producing so much more saliva. Good luck lovey and hope you get it a bit more sorted. DS was a major puker/ reflux baby but his wasn't silent iykwim?
